If you're using something like a coat hanger, put some electrical tape on the tip to protect and wires as you come through. I ended up routing the antenna wire through the dash and out the left side of the dash into the rubber door insulation, up the door and out on the roof on the driver's side. There's about a quarter inch of the wire visible where it leaves the dash and enters the insulation.
Run The Power Wire Through Your Fenders.
Leave that one alone and look under, you will see a little plug that is about the size of your power wire, it is by where you have the engine hood release switch. What size wire are you going to run? Not sure about the current gen f510, but on the 12th gen f150s there is a big grommet on the driver's side of the firewall with a nipple that can be cut off and power/coax fed thru there:

There are some on both the drivers and passenger sides. It will allow for constant 12 volt to a couple simple things. In the engine bay, the cable can be tracked from the latch running along the left on top of the frame and going down into a hole underneath the hood bracket.

I just googled 2012 f 150 pass through grommet in firewall and came back with numerous posts (many from the f 150 forum) and over a dozen photos of existing grommets in the firewall that can be used to run cables from the battery to where ever you want to mount the radio. Strip about 4 inches off the wires and put them in the hook and smash the hook flat. My understanding is that you remove the rear part of the passenger side front wheel well liner and there is a large rubber boot/grommet that will allow you to run your 4/8 gauge right through it (there is a nipple on it that you can cut as well to feed through) and that takes you right down the passenger side of the vehicle.

The hole was covered with a plastic cover that made it very easy to find, and the cover was easy to remove or drill through, allowing for the passage of a wire. Sent from my iphone using tapatalk Amplifier delivery due tomorrow, will need to get dedicated power to it under the passenger seat.
